Too much Chipotle, mayhaps?

I'm the biggest dork ever. Last night I made dinner for the guys before we all headed off to church, and I wanted to make 'The ultimate spicy beef nachos' for them. Something new and different that we've never had before. Well, maybe that was a mistake. See, I was rushed for time, since I got home late from work and didnt really start dinner until around 5:30ish. I normally I like to have dinner done right when dad walks in the door or shortly after, so I was rushing around the kitchen trying to put this new recipe together quick so that we could sit down and eat and relax a bit afterwards. I had a medium sized can of Chipotle chiles that I had to open, and I thought that on the recipe it called for a medium sized can of Chipotle. And at the time I was wondering why in the world wasn't it telling the can size? But I continued on and put the whole medium can into the meat.
Today I got some sad text messages from the guys complaining that their stomaches hurt most the day. And, I was just thinking, well, maybe they shouldn't have ate that much. Welll, I was talking to my mom, and she mentioned that the recipe called for one medium sized Chipotle, not medium can of Chipotle!!! Those poor guys! No wonder it was so hot. O_O I don't normally miss things like that in recipes, so don't be scared to come over here and eat my food, it was just a mistake, I promise!!!

Anyways, I just thought that was pretty funny, because once the guys found out what I had done there was alot of "Lorrraaaainnneee!!" and lots of tales of how their day was in pain. So, I'm sorry guys, you know I didn't do that on purpose, and you know that hardly ever happens!! Next time I will follow the recipes completely, and make sure when it says something weird to read it slowly, so I get it. Heehee!

That is so funny. I have made plenty of mistakes with my cooking. But at least you are making mistakes on your family. You will be a perfect chef by the time you get married.

Heehee, they didn't finish it! Not only did I quadrupletriple the chipotles, but I also made a crazy amount of nachos for only 4 people..a heaping 13x9 pan full! So in the end, we had a ton left over that no one ate! Probably a good thing..heeheeeheee
