A Ball

Sorry its been so long since I've written on this, but not a whole lot has been going on in my life. I'm happily boring at the moment. :) But I thought I'd write about this: Recently I got invited to go to a Regency Ball (With Brittany and her friends) on Nov 15th. For those of you who don't know what that is, its basically an excuse for people to get dressed up in pretty Jane Austen dresses (And tuxes...) and dance the night away!! :) I'm super excited, because this is my favorite time era, and I've always wanted to dress up for the fun of it! So, for the next couple of weeks I'll be working on sewing a dress for the ball. I'll be sure and post pictures for you all to see. So, that's what's new here! =3 Best get myself moving and off to work!

Ooh, I forgot to mention its a GRAND Ball...that means everyone is going all out on fancy costumes. =3 SO fun! Can't wait to see everyone dressed up ^^

Tea Party!

This was the "Master Sheet" of all the ladies tables, showing where they all were supposed to be seated.

Yesterday was the Tea Party, it was a crazy party this year, but sooo much fun!! We had (I think) a little less than 100 women this year. The largest group we've had in the 9 years we've done the tea party! The guys were such a big help this year!! In the past, Brittany and I would serve all the ladies by ourselves, but the last few years, we've grown in the amount of women we get each year, that we need the guys to help. This year they did all the serving and we helped in the kitchen with our mom's, and set up some of the games. Over all, the party turned out really good we all had alot of fun! ;DI love that the guys get all dressed up fancy. Soo handsome! :)All the servers back:Branden, Jason, Timothy, Jonathan, and Danny. Front :Brittany and I. :)A little 'behind the scenes" pictures of us all crowded into Sis. Dayna's kitchenMe and my sistas <3
Our turn to rest...And eat <3
Thanks to the sisters that stayed and served us tea! We love you all <3

First Two Weeks

Well, it was my first two weeks of my new job! Basically what I do at the office is: File, send out their mail, get their mail ready to send, copy papers, fax, and other office-y jobs. Then I get about 1.5 hours to watch their kids, and take them for a walk. Its nice being able to still be with the kids. They're like my little shadows..following me around the office asking what they can do to help, its cute. ;)

This job worked out so awesome. I had gone to another CPA office to see if it was something I'd want to do, and I came home not feeling right about it, and kinda feeling down in the dumps, because I knew I wanted it, but again, it didn't feel right to me. So after I got home from checking out that office, I just prayed all day that something random would show up and be perfect for what I needed. Or that I'd come across something while in town searching for a job.
Instead, about a week or so later, I got a call from my old boss (the lady I baby-sat for), asking if I wanted to come work for them at their office. This was an answer to my prayers! I didn't have to try out for the job, or really anything, I just had to say Yes! This job is so much fun, I get my own office room and I have to dress all fancy for work, its a fun new experience! ;) I'm very thankful God heard my prayers and answered so quickly. <3

Anyways, sorry I haven't been posting lately. Thanks for reminding me to post an update, Sis. Stubby!! :)

A job!

I got a job!! Two nights ago I got a call from the lady I used to baby sit for and she said they were looking for someone to work at their office, and wanted to know if I'd take the job. I'd been praying to know if I should try for another job or just stick with the 5 hour a week job. I went and toured one of the sisters jobs here, and wasn't sure if it was something I'd be able to do, or even get. Its in a big office building, and I didn't know a whole lot about what I'd be doing there...they were going to have to teach me a lot. So, after I got back from that, I just prayed I'd find something that if that job wasn't right for me, something else would come up for me to do. A week later, I got the call from the lady. I start working next wednesday after Sky Camp. I'm not totally sure what all I do at this job, so we'll see...=)

Running in streets

Saturday as I was on my way home from dropping a friend off at her house, I took a side road home, that I don't normally take. I was driving down the road, and there was a lady in her car to my right, stopped at a stop sign. She decided to go, probably thinking it was a 4 way stop..it wasn't. So I slam on my brakes, and toot my horn at her, and started mumbling to myself about it, but then something caught my attention up ahead in the road. A little boy ran right into the road, like he was running away from something. If I had kept going, and that car didn't stop me, I would've hit him, and probably killed him. He came out from between two cars, so I wouldn't have saw him until I hit him...
I was so ashamed afterwards, because I was getting so frustrated with the woman for going when she wasn't supposed to, when it was probably God saving me (AND the little boy) from having something traumatic happen. Anyways, I'm so thankful that she pulled in front of me, not just because I didn't hit the boy...

Little Man in a Fix

I know this is really late, but here it finally is! This is one of the worst
dances we do in the festival.
If you watch it you'll see that they almost drop
the girl at the end of the dance. Its very painful to do, and looks
so scary while watching because
it looks like any of the girls could fly out into the
audience if the men dont have a good hold on them, but everyone
in the audience loves it! When
I danced 2 years ago, I was doing this dance with
my partner and my brother Timothy, and with all the sweat and
it being so hot, they lost hand holds
and dropped one us girls. She was fine, but it made
her slide a little ways on the wooden floor. =o

Scandinavian Dance

This dance is called "Swedish Weave". Its one of the all time favorite dances for everyone, but I don't think the video gives it justice. The front man looking into the crowd is one of Jonathan's best friends, and later on you'll see Jonathan dancing with his partner. Look for a maroon looking vest and a girl in all maroon, I'm pretty sure they're the only boy/girl partners wearing maroon. ;)
I'll post one of the "flying" dances later, called "Little Man In a Fix".
